Live in the Moment
Well, I have made it up to week 4 and I have to say that I have had my old habits come up and talk to me this week. I have not thought about quitting but I have caught myself not giving 100%. I thought to myself: it won't really matter if I don't do the reading tonight or at lunchtime. I am happy to report that I caught myself and did the work. Why am I doing this if not to make changes? People who have completed the course, like it enough to do it again and lives have been changed for others. I figure they must have learned something that changed their life. I want to learn and change things in my life. In order to do that I must change my thoughts and habits. The other thing that I am working on is Living in the Moment. Even when I am doing something that I really enjoy I am not present 100% because I am always thinking of everything I need to do as soon as I am done. I have to tell myself that everything that needs to get done will get done and there is plenty of time. I have caught myself saying "do it now" off and on thru the day and it has made a huge difference. Now instead of having my tasks hanging over my head all day long I am getting a lot of them done right away and then I don't have that constant pressure all day long. I am also reading Mark J's book Standing Tall (excellent book by the way) and there is a phrase in there that really struck me.I no longer measure life by the number of breaths that I take but by the moments that take my breath away!I want to live in the moment so that I truly enjoy those special moments in life as well those precious times spent with friends. I am blessed to have the friends, family and the life that I have.
