How To Start Affiliate Marketing With No Money (Easy Method)

Start affiliate marketing with no money. I will be showing you an easy method.

Number One

The first thing you want to do is find a niche or niche.  The dictionary defines the word niche as

"denoting products, services, or interests that appeal to a small, specialized section of the population."

Niches fall under three main groups:

• Health
• Wealth
• Relationships

Within each of these three categories there are hundreds of niches.  Some are more competitive than others.  

When you pick your niche you will want to make sure that it is something that you are really interested in or something that you want to learn about.  You will be spending a lot of time on this topic so it is important that you find it interesting/exciting that you will be motivated to keep creating content on the topic.  So... don't pick something that you are not interested in.

Common Mistake

So the mistake that people make is, that they think they will be talking to more people.  But the problem is...you end out getting too spread out. And your message is not concentrated for the people that really may be interested in what you have to talk about.  So you need to narrow it down a little bit so that you can be really focused with your messaging and reach the people who are interested in what you're talking about.

Here is an example of what I mean.

If you are getting close to thinking about retirement, maybe you are thinking about make money online for baby boomers or making money online to supplement your retirement income.

You still need to get a little more focused than that.

How about how to make money online to supplement your retirement income for women?

The more focused you can be, the better.  Don't fall into the trap of thinking more  is better. I'm just gonna spread my message out there to as many people as possible.

It sounds like a great idea but it really doesn't work that way.
Focus focus, focus, narrow your market down. There are so many people that are in your niche.  You will do much better if you are more focused with your message.

Okay, you have figured out your category and your niche.  You have your ideal customer (avatar) in mind.

Where do I find products to promote?

There are three free platforms. Well, actually, there's more than that, but i'm gonna mention three.

• Clickbank.com
• Jvzoo.com
• Warriorplus.com

All of these are free to sign up for an account. You do not need to be approved in order to create an account.

I am going to focus on clickbank because I think that one is the easiest to use for beginners or people just starting out. If you are new and don't have already a success reputation, it is much more difficult to get authorized to promote products on Jvzoo and Warriorplus.

Many times you would need to request access from the vendor in order to be able to promote.  This also happens with Clickbank but there are so many more products to promote that do not require authorization from the vendor.

To create a Cickbank account just going to their website clickbank.com and enter your email and pick a password.  Once you create your account go ahead and get logged in.  Then at the top of the page click on marketplace.

The products that show up at the top of the page are the ones that are preforming the best.

If there's a lot of people doing well with this product, it means there's going
to be a lot more competition out there.  If you are brand new, it's going to
be much harder for you to compete with a lot of people that are very experienced in affiliate marketing.

There should be a balance between finding a product that's selling, but not one that is so popular that you can't break in and makeany sales.

I usually look for gravity above 30.  Look for a product that also has recurring monthly charges with an average sale above $50.

Step Three

Once you find that product, you are going to evaluate it before you click on the link to promote it.  Check out the affiliate page to see what types of assets or products the vendor has included to help you in making sales.  Check out the reviews of the product.  Make sure that the product looks to be excellent. 

MY PERSONAL BELIEF:

My personal belief is that you should actually try the product yourself before you try and promote it.  That way you know what your customers' journey is and if the product is missing any features.  You will be able to talk about the pros and cons.  It will also help you to know what kind of bonuses to create.

But...since this article is about starting your affiliate marketing business for free I will not harp on this.

I always look for products that have very good support on their affiliate pages, because it means that they're invested in helping their affiliates to do well.

Step Four

Now you are ready to promote.

There are two ways to promote: free and paid. I will not be going over paid methods since this article is about how to start affiliate marketing with no money.  Basically, anytime that you are spending money to get people to your off is considered a paid method.

Now a lot of people think free means that you are not paying.  But in reality you are.  You are paying with your time.  Do you know how valuable your time is?  It is the one resource that you can't get back.

Free methods include things like your facebook profile/group or blogging.  You may also decide to use Quora or Slideshare.  These are all excellent free methods but as with anything...you will need to be consistent.

You have done your research and picked your offer.  The next step is to click on the "promote" button.  This will give you your affiliate link.

In clickbank it is called a hoplink.  Once you gain some skill you will want to track your sales so that you know what methods are working for you.

Initally you will be using free methods like social media.  You will want to make sure that you do not just use your straight affiliate link and post in all over social media.  You will get banned.  Make sure that you are being an ethical marketer
and promoting properly.

The tool that I recommend is free.  It is called bit.ly.com.  It is very straight forward and easy to use.  What this software does is shorten your link 

Step Five

This final step is all about bonus creation.  I will talk about how you can do this using this free software.  

Usually a bonus is something like a good PDF or checklist.  Something that you feel will make their experience better with the product.  Or if you know that the produce is missing an area you can include that in your bonus.
Added: the company that I use is called Canva.

 I just use a free account although they do have paid accounts available.  If you are on a paid subscription you get access to alot more templates and images that you can use.

Just go to Canva.com and create your account.  Just start with the Free account.

Then click on Templates ---> then Stationary ---> then Reports.  I start with a blank canvas but you can pick different templates from the left hand side.

Make sure you pick one that is free.

If there is a template that you love that is not free you can just pay for that template and not the whole membership.  In Canva it is very easy to change font, colors design etc...

If you don't like what you have created just delete it and start over.

If you have a page that you like you can copy it and change it around for something different. It is a very versatile program. 

You will be able to create very professional looking PDFs and checklists. Sometimes providing something like this is just enough to nudge the sale.

Once you get going, you have made some money and you have paid for a couple of things, you can include, special bonuses that are more unique, that cannot be found anywhere else. 

Conclusion

Ok, you found your niche, you got focused and you have figured out your avatar (ideal customer).  I read the book Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson and it really helped me to figure out how to work through this process. 

You found your product on clickbank.com and you signed up for your free account.

You took your affiliate link and put it into Bit.ly to create a short link.You have created your free bonus in canva.

TIP

Don't Fall Into This Trap

People often think that all they have to do is spread their link around and the money is just going to start rolling in.

Nothing could be further from the truth.  Do not fall into that trap.

The business model of affiliate marketing is very easy in terms of the fact that you don't have to really create a product and provide customer service and returns and all that kind of stuff.

You also don't need to have a brick and mortar building. So in terms of the actual business model, it is very simple, but it does take work.

People think...that they won't have to do any work because they see other people that are having lots of success out there. Yes, there are people who are successful quickly.  If you look back in their history, you are going to see that they had a lot of experience in marketing.  Or, they've done this type of business before.  They may have done something that is giving them the edge up.

If you are like me.

You may have started completely with no experience in this area whatsoever. Or, maybe you are still working and you have limited hours that you can dedicate towards building your business.

It is going to take you some time to get going and it is going to take work. Thisis not a get rich quick type of thing.  Yes, you can make some sales, but in orderto be successful over the long term, it is really going to take work. It's going to take dedication. It's going to take liking what you're promoting.

Once you get going, I would recommend going into more private affiliate offers because it's possible to make a higher percentage.

Software is also another good option, but I'm not talking about those specifically in this blog because this is how to get going for free. Typically for private offers and software, you need to purchase it first.

So I am saving that for another article.   I will be showing you how to be successful, and it is going to include some paid methods.  This one is how to start  affiliate marketing with no money.
