I am going to discuss my 3 reasons to combine NWM and Affiliate Marketing. There are many reasons to combine both Network Marketing (NWM) and Affiliate Marketing. Both are viable ways to work from home or develop as a side hustle. I have many friends that are successful in both industries. Both Network Marketing and Affiliate Marketing give you the opportunity to make some significant income. You have the opportunity to make it your sole source of income. I am hoping I don’t need to write a full paragraph on the fact that if you don’t take action neither one of these will work for you!
Wikipedia explains NWM as: “a marketing strategy for the sale of products or services where the revenue of the MLM company is derived from a non-salaried workforce selling the company’s products/services…MLM salespeople are, therefore, expected to sell products directly to end-user retail consumers by means of relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing, but most importantly they are incentivized to recruit others to join the company’s distribution chain as fellow salespeople so that these can become down line distributors.”
In plain English: The NWM company’s advertising and sales is a result of people who are using the product and introducing others to the product and benefit of joining the company. The larger your circle of influence the faster your network grows. With any network marketing company, it is very important to develop customers (retail sales) as well as other distributors (people who sign up as salespeople under you).
Most people are drawn to NWM because they love the product or know someone who has a great testimonial on how the product helped them/changed their lives. For many, the product is the business opportunity. NWM typically involves more personal selling, one to one. People are usually instructed to talk to friends and family. It usually involves 3-way phone calls, coffee shop meetings and in-home parties.
This is not a “get rich quick scheme”. This system requires work and dedication. There are some people that are able to build quickly but it is typically because they have previous experience in this industry or as I have stated above, they have a large circle of influence.
Anybody can be an affiliate marketer. You are an affiliate marketer when you earn a commission from promoting a company, software or someone else’s product or services. People start out by promoting a service or software that they are already using and love. If someone purchases from your affiliate link then you, as the affiliate would earn a commission from each sale that is made. This does not increase the price to the buyer.
In Affiliate Marketing you can use someone else’s product or service and sell it like it’s your own using your affiliate link. In order to get your affiliate link, you will need to apply with the company that you are promoting. With some companies, it is a “pay to play” program. What this means is that you need to purchase the product before you can qualify to promote it. Other companies or software are free to promote.
The percentage that you are paid really varies from company to company. I have found it to work the best when I promote companies that have monthly fees because then I earn a recurring monthly commission as long as that person continues to be a member of that program. For a listing of some of the programs that I love, visit my Resources Page.
This is why it is so important that you like and use the product before you recommend or join the company.
With network marketing, you get the benefits of networking, residual income and the power of duplication. As your network grows, so does your income.
You are able to grow a global business and as your income grows you have time and financial freedom.
The benefit of affiliate marketing is that you do not have to create a product or worry about fulfillment, shipping delivery, support refunds or support. You are able to grow your income quickly once you find a winning product and scale. With some products, you are able to earn up to 75% of the product cost. You also have the ability to build your email list. Once you have a list you are able to provide value to your customers and also suggest other programs that may be beneficial to them.
In a nutshell some of the benefits of Affiliate Marketing:
By combining both NWM and Affiliate Marketing you are able to get paid twice for the same amount of work. So, what do I mean by this? Let me explain…
I use a software called ClickFunnels. This drag and drop software allows me to create sales funnels. The sales funnel allows me to sell one to many instead of one to one. As a result, I am able to build my NWM company faster because I am able to present my offer to more people who are interested in what I have. This funnel is like having a salesperson working for me 24/7 seven days a week. What does this mean to me? No more coffee shop meetings waiting for someone to show. No more uncomfortable phone calls, no more talking to friends and family who are tired of hearing about my company. My funnel filters out the people who are not my ideal clients.
With ClickFunnels I am able to share my funnels with my team members. This means that I can get them up and running quickly.
ClickFunnels also has an awesome affiliate program. If my team wants to be able to use my funnels then they need to join ClickFunnels so that I can share my funnel with them. As a ClickFunnels affiliate then I am paid 40% of the recurring monthly fee of everyone who has signed up using my link. So now not only am I getting paid by my NWM company but I am also getting recurring income from Clickfunnels…paid 2x for doing the work once.
